Stephanie Hicks, CNHP

Behavior Expert

Stephanie thrives on creating success where it seems elusive. With decades of experience providing direct services to a variety of special needs populations of all ages, Ms. Hicks has developed the discernment necessary to determine the Next Right Steps toward independence for her clients. Ms. Hicks studied Psychology and Biology at UNC-Chapel Hill and Georgia State University. She is currently pursuing her teaching credential at Western Governors University. 

 

Her career of working with those with special needs began as a student in 1998 with Division TEACCH, a pioneering program for autism research and treatment at UNC-Chapel Hill medical school. For over 20 years, Ms. Hicks has provided direct services and consultation to clients and families, with individuals ranging from ages 2 to 70. She has worked extensively with ASD populations ranging in age from preschool to adult in the home, classroom, and community settings. In addition to her 8 years of experience in direct services in public school classrooms, she has served in both direct services and supervisory roles in residential services, in-home tutoring/independence training, supported employment, and community skills acquisition.

 

Ms. Hicks believes that the essential ingredient to success across environments is appropriate behavior, which is achievable for anyone given the proper supports. Ms. Hicks strives to assist her clients in developing the will and self-control necessary to responsibly exercise independence in thought and action.

Anitha Rao, CFP

Certified Financial Planner

Anitha Rao, CFP is co-founder of Financial Architects and serves as vice president and senior wealth manager. She has earned the Certified Financial Planner® designation and has taught in the Certified Financial Planner programs at several universities. She holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park and has done postgraduate work in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Georgia Tech. Prior to her transition to the financial field, Ms. Rao worked in IT Consulting with both boutique firms and a "big six" accounting firm.  She is an active member of the Financial Planning Association and has served as an expert witness.

 

Ms. Rao is passionate about giving families financial stability regardless of their life circumstances.  She lives in Marietta with her husband, Venki, and their two boys, Kiran and Barath. Venki is the Chief Information Officer for GE Digital Energy. Barath attends McGill University, and Kiran attends Georgia Tech.
